Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School launches November 5, 2026, on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC. It will also be available through Xbox Game Pass on day one. The sequel expands on the original’s timed escape rooms by linking them through a campus players can explore and solve puzzles in between challenges.

The rooms are timed and graded, while the campus offers a lower-pressure space to uncover secrets and tackle puzzles. The game supports solo play and local or online co-op, with an in-game hint system that offers increasingly specific guidance. Using hints affects a player’s grade, though the game’s guidance says it is still possible to earn an A while using one or two.

A set of spoiler-free tips for new players recommends keeping a notebook handy, inspecting anything that can be interacted with and sharing discoveries with co-op partners. Players can also work backwards from a room’s objective to identify what they need and where to find it.

The campus introduces optional student tasks that reward Escape Bucks, a currency needed at several points in the story. These untimed side puzzles can be completed as players progress, and Escape Bucks can also be found around the campus.
