The Lost Archives, the second DLC for Halls of Torment, is now available on Xbox. A separate free update is also available to all players, adding new ways to play across the game’s halls.
The DLC introduces a new hall and two heroes: the Inquisitor, built around defense and retribution, and the Blood Apostle, who trades health for greater power. Both bring new abilities and upgrades, along with three equipment sets each.
The Inquisitor uses the new Judgement and Execution mechanics. Taking damage applies Judgement to nearby enemies, while his mace triggers Executions. Judgement can spread between foes before dealing unblockable damage when activated. The Blood Apostle builds on the Sacrifice mechanic, gaining power from giving up health. Her Affliction effect can jump to another enemy when its current target is killed, and she can recover health by defeating enemies affected by Fragile or Affliction.
The free update adds a Weekly Challenge that rotates through the five base halls and gives everyone a fixed objective to complete. It also lets players set their own kill goal at the Shrine of Torment, determining when the Tormented Lords appear. The option is intended to support shorter runs and can be paired with artifacts that increase enemy numbers. Weekly Challenges also award extra Torment Shards.
The update further expands the Scriptor, which now records players’ best results and accumulated statistics since the game’s release.
