Honeycomb Aeronautical’s Foxtrot Takeoff Kit combines the Foxtrot Aviation Stick with a compact Throttle Box, adding analog throttle controls to a flight stick that previously lacked them. The bundle costs $179.99 in the United States and is compatible with PC, but not Xbox.
The throttle box has four sliders with resistance and detents, alongside four physical switches for functions including landing gear, engines and the parking brake. The controls were described as straightforward to set up and immersive without making the configuration overly complex. Screws and plates let users attach the box to either side of the stick.
The main drawback for people who already own the Foxtrot Aviation Stick is that Honeycomb does not currently sell the Throttle Box separately. The review suggests it could potentially cost around $30 on its own, but that price is an estimate, not an announced retail price. As a result, existing stick owners would need to buy the full kit to get the matching throttle.
The reviewed sample also had a lever handle that did not sit flush, apparently because of a plastic moulding fault. The reviewer noted that the issue might be specific to their unit. Separately, the roughly 330-gram throttle box could slide on a desk mat when its levers were pushed, though it held better on a wooden surface and was more stable when attached to the stick.
The Foxtrot Takeoff Kit is available from Honeycomb’s store and approved US resellers. The standalone Foxtrot Aviation Stick remains available, but buyers seeking the compact throttle cannot purchase it separately at present.
