Xbox’s new Mythic Achievements have prompted players to look back at the games they have completed since the Xbox 360 era. The accolade is awarded as an additional reward after unlocking all of a game’s standard achievements and reaching 100% completion.
Pure Xbox Editor Fraser Gilbert currently has eight Mythic Achievements. His completed games include FIFA 14, Rocket League and several titles from Telltale’s The Walking Dead series.
Staff Writer Craig Reid has earned 36 Mythics, including achievements tied to Alan Wake II, Signalis, End of Abyss and Duck Detective: The Ghost of Glamping.
Reid is also considering a new “Become Mythic” feature focused on each completion. The proposed series would describe the process of earning the achievement, discuss the game involved and track how many Mythics he can collect over a year. The idea draws inspiration from Push Square’s “Going Platinum” feature by Stephen Tailby.
Pure Xbox describes the full-completion rewards as a welcome addition to the Xbox experience and is asking readers to share their totals through a poll, along with their favourite game completed at 100%.
