Bethesda has announced that its next Elder Scrolls game will be called The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel. The name was revealed in a trailer released as part of Bethesda Game Studios’ 40th anniversary celebrations.
The brief trailer offers little information about the game, but it mentions Hammerfell by name. The accompanying description refers to a vision of “a future lost” and “a victory undone,” attributed to Yazar, a Moth Priest to High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell in 4E 206.
The trailer appeared at the end of a video in which Bethesda Game Studios director Todd Howard marked the studio’s anniversary. Howard said it felt like the right time to reveal the game’s full name.
Xbox CEO Asha Sharma also congratulated Bethesda on the announcement. The reveal follows a report that the title would be announced in November.
