THQ Nordic and Grimlore Games have officially opened pre-orders for Titan Quest II on Xbox Series X|S, marking the arrival of the sequel to the beloved original action RPG. The game is scheduled to launch on January 19, 2027, though players who pre-order can begin their journey up to 96 hours early starting January 15. Set in a reimagined ancient Greece, the narrative follows mortals tasked with stopping Nemesis, the Goddess of Retribution, from corrupting the Threads of Fate.
Since entering Early Access on PC in August 2025, the development team has integrated community feedback to expand the game with new regions, enemies, bosses, crafting systems, and multiplayer features. The core gameplay revolves around a flexible Mastery system that allows players to combine any two of six available Masteries—Earth, Storm, Warfare, Rogue, Forge, and Spirit—to create a unique hybrid class. This system offers 15 distinct combinations before equipment is even considered, enabling builds such as pairing Forge with Storm for lightning-infused blade traps or combining Spirit and Rogue to summon the dead while striking from the shadows.
Customization extends beyond class selection, as every skill can be modified to alter its behavior entirely, and attribute points in Might, Agility, Vigor, and Knowledge allow for further fine-tuning. Players can respec their builds at any time for a small gold fee. The game also removes weapon restrictions, permitting heroes to mix armor types and weapons freely, such as wearing full plate while wielding a magic staff or using a two-handed axe in leather gear.
Combat in Titan Quest II is designed to be deliberate rather than frantic, requiring players to read enemy factions, dodge at precise moments, and position themselves strategically. Health potions refill as damage is dealt to enemies, encouraging sustained engagement. Difficulty can be adjusted via Rituals, allowing players to tailor the challenge to their preference. The loot system emphasizes build utility over raw numbers, featuring Socket Charms, Relics, and a crafting system that lets players reroll or upgrade affixes.
The game world spans sun-drenched coasts, the Arkadian Plains, the Wild Lands, and Mount Olympus itself, populated by legendary creatures like centaurs, gryphons, and cyclopes. Players can explore these handcrafted environments alone or team up with friends in cooperative multiplayer. Two editions are available for pre-order: the Standard Edition at $59.99 and the Ultimate Edition at $79.99. Both include the Cosmic Turtle Companion and 96 hours of early access, while the Ultimate Edition additionally grants immediate access to the original Titan Quest and its Ragnarök and Atlantis expansions. Existing owners of the original game on Xbox also receive a 10% loyalty discount.
