December is typically a quieter month for new video game releases, but Xbox players will have two notable remasters to look forward to on December 3: Rayman Legends Retold and Thief: The Dark Project Remastered.

Rayman Legends Retold is set to launch on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S as a reimagining of the acclaimed platformer. It will feature new content and narrative twists, while allowing players to explore the Glade of Dreams alone or in local cooperative play for up to four people. The adventure retains its fast-paced, side-scrolling format and focuses on a corrupted world filled with unexpected challenges.

The second release, Thief: The Dark Project Remastered, was newly announced for the same date. The original Thief debuted on PC in 1998 and has never previously appeared on Xbox. Developed by Looking Glass Studios, it became known for its non-confrontational approach to first-person gameplay and for using light and sound as core stealth mechanics.

Nightdive Studios is handling the remaster using its KEX Engine. The release will include Thief: The Dark Project along with the extra missions, content and updates introduced in the 1999 Thief Gold edition. The original game received a 92 average score on Metacritic and was regarded as one of the standout titles of its release year.
