Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is bringing the original Xbox arena brawler back in 2026. Atari has funded the remaster of the game, which originally launched on Xbox in 2003, several months after its GameCube debut and only in North America.
The game features Godzilla and other kaiju battling across destructible city environments. Its original Xbox release did not expand beyond North America, and its Xbox 360 backward-compatible version was also limited to that region. The remaster is scheduled to launch on November 3 for Xbox Series X|S.
Early reviews highlight the upgraded presentation and the straightforward multiplayer-focused combat. Noisy Pixel awarded it 8/10, praising its rebuilt visuals, arena destruction and chaotic multiplayer, while noting the limited character roster and time-consuming unlocks.
CGMagazine gave the remaster 7.5/10, describing the graphical update as substantial but criticizing the lack of other significant additions and what it considered a grind-heavy gameplay loop.
Nintendo Life scored it 7/10 and called it a faithful update that remains simple and enjoyable. The outlet also highlighted its local and online multiplayer, while finding the single-player offering notably thin.
