Microsoft’s Xbox Nano Controller goes on sale November 4, 2026, in the United States, United Kingdom and select other markets. Priced at $49.99, the pocket-sized gamepad is designed for travel and has a shorter profile than a standard Xbox controller while retaining roughly the same width.

The controller includes the standard Xbox inputs, with smaller thumbsticks, buttons, triggers and bumpers. Its rechargeable battery has no published lifespan rating, but in early testing it still had 20% charge after a week of use. The controller does not include vibration motors or removable batteries.

Initial hands-on impressions describe the grips as comfortable for adult hands, with the raised bumpers and shaped triggers making them easy to operate. The product is still undergoing testing ahead of a full review.

The controller also supports direct Wi-Fi connections for Xbox Cloud Gaming, a feature that is not yet active. The report says Microsoft plans to begin testing it in the United States before expanding availability in the following weeks and months. Direct Wi-Fi connections are intended to reduce the extra connection steps involved in using Bluetooth.

Its small size could make the Nano Controller useful for travel or for players with smaller hands. Microsoft has also promoted it alongside Minecraft Dungeons 2.
